When I wrote this song, I was in one of many battles with depression. Battles make up the long war. Seeing the world through negative lenses, I was trying to conjure a shred of good in the world, which felt nearly impossible. Fear, pain, and anger, intense as they may feel, are not invincible forces. Trying to put my feelings into words, I tried to describe the loving, social magic that is good friendship when you really need it. It resulted in a song of hope; a musical chapter in our ever-evolving unwritten survival guide. Maybe you really need something hopeful right now. <3
